Being Blessed- Part 1
How do we live a life of peace?
I want to emphasize this is for believers not unbelievers. The only thing in God's word that is of value to unbelievers is the gospel, until they accept it there is nothing they can do because they are still slaves to sin.
But, for the believers it's a different story, we have been redeemed and transferred into the kingdom of God's dear son. The laws of his kingdom are different from the laws of this world when it comes to his blessings. God's kingdom prospers because of his will, so in order for you as a believer/citizen to experience this we have to make him the king of our will, and like I always say his will agrees with his word.
Do you ever wonder why nothing turns out the way you imagined or why there are always obstacles making your life difficult? I have a hypothesis based on God's word which I hope will be of help to you today.
So how do we start being blessed in God's kingdom? By aligning our will with his word. In the Lord's Prayer one of the statements is "your will be done on earth as it is in heaven", his will has to start with us since we're a part of his kingdom and his representatives on earth. His word tells us that we should not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. You see God's word is truth and it opens your eyes to the lie that controls the way people live in this world.
There are promises in his word also that always show us a path to righteousness which includes his blessings. If we want to experience these promises we have to trust his word which means aligning with his word no matter how hard it seems. Our faith causes us to submit to him knowing that his love for us is never ending and only for our well being.
Let's start with a promise we find in the book of Psalms. Psalms 1:1 it says "Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;". So, in order to experience his blessing in your life you need to walk in his counsel which is in his word, it shows the path of righteousness and not take on the tone of unbelievers.
